Some people on my f-list might cringe at a double post but I know some of you dont read rarepairs_cm  and I wanted to post some of my Criminal Minds fic here.  Hope you enjoy and let me know what you think if you read it.

Title: Christmas Eve Will Find Me

Author: Montiese

Category: Holiday/Romance

Pairing: Gideon/Prentiss

Rating: MATURE

Summary: “I don’t like the idea of messing with tradition.”

“I’ll get it.”

The voice of a little girl rang from behind the front door. She pulled the door open, shivering from the blast of cold air.

“Merry Christmas!” ten-year-old Marianne Prescott smiled. “Who are you?”

“My name is Jason; I'm a friend of your Aunt Emily’s.”

“Really? She’s here, come in.”

“Thank you.”

Jason stepped in as Emily and her sister Julia came out of the kitchen. The raven-haired profiler gasped when she saw him.

“What are you…?”

“My plans fell through.”

“I'm really glad to hear it.”

“So I thought…”

“Of course.”

She rushed into his arms and Jason held her close. He nuzzled her neck and it made her shiver.

“How did you even get here?” she asked, pulling away and helping him out of his coat.

“That is classified information, ma'am.”

“So you want to be mysterious.”

“Actually, I want nothing more than to kiss you hello.” Jason pulled off his coat and threw it over his arm. “That’s difficult with an audience. Are you going to introduce me?”

“Right.” Emily smiled, turning to her sister and niece. “Julia and Marianne Prescott, this is Jason Gideon. He um…he’s a good friend of mine.”

“I am so sorry to crash.” Jason shook Julia’s hand. “Emily was gracious enough to invite me but I thought I had other plans.”

“Is Stephen alright?” Emily asked.

“He had a chance to meet up with some friends on holiday in London. That appealed to him much more than another boring dinner with the old man.”

“Let me take your coat, Jason. Come into the den; dinner is almost ready. Would you like a drink?”

“Do you have Glenfiddich?”

“Yes, that’s also my husband’s favorite. Emily will introduce you around…I need to check on dinner. That drink is coming right up.”

It’s a Wonderful Life played in the dent. Jason met Nicholas Prescott, Julia’s husband. He was a Professor of philosophy at Fordham University. When Emily went to introduce him to her 14-year-old nephew Josh, she started signing. Jason smiled and began to communicate with the teenager. Josh smiled, and he and Jason talked for a while. When Julia returned with the drink, Emily took it from her hands.

“He knows sign language?” the older Prentiss sister asked.

“You didn’t know?”

“No.” Emily shook her head.

“What do you know about him?”

“That’s a loaded question.”

“You're looking at him that way.”

“I am not.”

“You don’t even know what way I'm talking about.”

“I know you Jules,” Emily glanced back at her. “I know what way you're talking about.”

“And I know you, which means that you are saying you're not because you are. You don’t invite just anyone to a family Christmas gathering.”

“He doesn’t even celebrate Christmas, and I didn’t the idea of him being alone at the holidays. We all invited him somewhere; it was actually almost sitcom-like.”

“But he came here.” Julia replied.

“Dinner is ready.” She announced. “Everyone just come on into the dining room. I hope you like Cornish hens, Jason.”

“It sounds lovely.”

He smiled as Emily reached out her hand for him and they walked behind the rest of the family.

“Look up.” Marianne said, as they crossed the threshold.

They did and Emily could only roll her eyes when she saw the mistletoe.

“You're supposed to kiss, Aunt Emily.” the ten year old said.

“I don’t like the idea of messing with tradition.” Jason replied, pulling her close and kissing her lips.

Emily could not help but sigh in his arms. She pulled away quickly, her skin flushed. Jason stroked her cheek.

“I'm hungry.” She said.

“Nice save, Auntie Em.” Josh signed.

“Auntie Em?” Jason signed back, a raised eyebrow and a grin on his face.

“He was obsessed with The Wizard of Oz ever since he was a toddler. The flying monkeys didn’t even scare him.”

“I love that film.” Jason replied.

“You are just full of surprises tonight.” Emily said as they sat down.

“You have no idea.”

“Do it again!” Marianne squealed, clapping her hands. “Do it again, Jason!”

“Alright, watch carefully.”

He cracked his knuckles and using magic, removed his thumb. Marianne could not get enough. She made the veteran FBI Agent pull quarters from behind her ears and turn napkins into colored scarves. It had been a lovely evening. Over dinner, they discussed St. Nicholas and the origin of Christmas. Jason and Nicholas discussed Voltaire and Jung while he discussed war crimes with Julia, who worked for the United Nations. He and Emily kept Josh excited with abridged versions of Unsubs they captured; Marianne only cared about magic tricks.

“Are you going to come back to visit next year?” She asked, bouncing on the balls of her feet.

“I'm not sure. If I can, I will definitely be here.”

She threw her arms around him and Jason hugged her tight.

“Merry Christmas, Agent Jason.”

“Merry Christmas, Marianne.”

“You are welcome anytime, Jason.” Nicholas shook his hand. “This is the best crashed party we’ve had in some time. The year before last it was just Julia’s mother.”

“Be nice.” Julia hit her husband’s arm. “It was lovely to meet you, Jason. Emily doesn’t often introduce us to people in her life so we are happy to know you.”

“The feeling is mutual. Nice to meet you, Josh.”

“You too, Agent Gideon. Merry Christmas Auntie Em.”

“Merry Christmas.” She hugged him and kissed his face.

“Its starting to snow, so drive safely.” Nicholas said.

“We will.”

Jason took Emily’s travel bag from her hand. They walked down the stairs to Jason’s rented Jaguar.

“A luxury car?” Emily looked at him.

“They didn’t have anymore SUVs at the lot. It’s Christmastime.”

He put her bag in the back seat before opening the passenger side door. Emily leaned over to open his door. When he put the key in the ignition, the voice of Ron Silver came through the speakers. Jason turned it off as they pulled out of the driveway.

“What was that?” Emily asked.

“Ron Silver reading Reversal of Fortune. I always listen to books on tape when I am traveling long distances. Well, books on tape and Charlie Parker. I don’t want to bore you.”

“You never bore me. I cannot believe you're here.”

“I am. Aren't you concerned about where I am taking you?”

Emily shook her head, smiling.

“One thing though.”

“I am dying to be kissed, just dying Jason.”

“What do you call what happened under the mistletoe?” he asked, stopping at a stop sign.

“That was a peck and a tradition.”

Jason grinned, leaning over the console.

“What's the magic word?”

“Pretty please.”

She leaned into his mouth, feeling electric currents run through her as they kissed. Jason cupped her cheek and deepened the kiss. Horns started honking behind him but went ignored.

“Merry Christmas darling. Happy New Year too.”

“Thank you Karen Carpenter.” Emily laughed. “Alright, where are you taking me?”

“Tell me where you want to go.”

The car started moving again. Jason wanted to hold her hand but with snow falling it was better to drive with both hands. He needed to focus.

“I'm so glad you're here I am willing to accept the Days Inn.”

“Taking one of the lovely Prentiss sisters to the Days Inn should be punishable by caning. I have a suite at the Hilton Midtown.”

“That sounds perfect. Did Stephen really cancel?”

“He really wanted to be with his friends…he doesn’t see them often. I told him there was someplace else I could go so he didn’t feel so bad about the last minute cancellation and leaving me alone.”

“I would have killed you if you spent the holiday alone, Jason.”

“I wouldn’t have told you.” he replied.

“You would have lied to me?”

“Oh no ma'am. It would simply have been an omission of certain pertinent pieces of information.”

“Mmm hmm.” Emily crossed her arms.

“You are adorable when you pout.”

“Why are you looking at me that way?” Emily asked.

She picked a chocolate from the box, dome shaped and filled with caramel. Popping it into her mouth, Emily’s eyes rolled back. “Oh my God, delectable.”

“You're beautiful.” Jason said.

“Stuffing myself with chocolate even?”

They were in the hotel suite now. In the bedroom, one of the many versions of A Christmas Carol played on the television. Jason lay across the bed, cheek resting in the palm of his hand. Emily sat close by, Indian style, dressed in rather festive panties and the shirt she had taken off his back. The box of gourmet chocolates sat between them.

“Especially then. There is nothing lovelier than a woman in indulgent splendor.”

“Eat one.” Emily replied smiling.

“No thank you.”

“Are you allergic?”

“No.” he shook his head.

“Then eat one. I want you…to indulge.”

“Surprise me,” Jason closed his eyes. “Except with coconut because I don’t want to spend Christmas Eve in the ER.”

Emily told him to open his mouth and she slipped a piece of chocolate in.

“What is it?”

“Mmm,” Jason’s tone was lush and thick. “It’s a butter cream.”

She leaned over to kiss him, sharing the taste. He took hold of her shoulders as the kisses intensified. He tasted dinner on her, along with expensive wine and possibly more expensive chocolate. It was delicious, expensive chocolate.

“Do you want presents now or tomorrow?” Jason asked when they were finally breathless. “By the way, what are your plans for tomorrow?”

“Dinner with my parents, they always come to New York for the holidays. I am so glad you're here…I'm sure my stepmother invited three or more single men to the festivities. That’s her M.O. I know she means well but as soon as they find out what I do for a living they lose interest.”

“Weak-minded men are intimidated by intelligent women.”

“While I'm sure they are I think it’s more what Morgan says. Men make it their business not to mess around with the hearts of women who carry firearms. Did you mention presents?”

“I did?”

“You brought me presents? Plural?”

“Plural.” Jason replied with a small nod.

“Damn.” He tilted his head.

“Your exquisiteness does not diminish an ounce when you ask foolish questions.” He clucked under her chin. “I can give you one now and the other tomorrow.”

“I want them both now.”

He smiled and she knew he would give her anything. It was strange but in very little time, Emily had mastered the facial expressions and mannerisms of Supervisory Special Agent Jason Gideon. He was not as hard to read as people probably imagined. He was definitely not transparent but perhaps they spoke the same language. Jason got up from the bed, walking across the room to his suitcase. He turned to her holding up a large package and a smaller one.

“Which one first?”

Jason smiled, handing her the larger one.

“Its light.” Emily said.

“Do not shake it, Katya. Open it.”

She ripped the paper off and gasped. Emily looked up at him.

“Jason, I…oh my God.”

“Do you like it?”

“It’s too much. I shouldn’t…it’s too much.”

“My sister saw some of these prints online and she told me they were starting at $650.” In her hands was a framed print of Kilgore Trout’s tombstone. It was drawn and autographed by Kurt Vonnegut.

“I am sure your mother told you it is quite unseemly to discuss money. It’s a gift…do you like it?”

“Are you kidding?”

“Then that’s all that matters to me.” he sat on the end of the bed. “Do you want #2?”

He took the 11x14 print in the lightweight frame from her hands and replaced it with a vase-sized box.

“Do not shake it.” he again instructed.

“Alright.” Emily nodded as she laughed. She again tore the paper off and lifted the top. Pulling the sculpture out, she ran her hands over the smooth ivory.

“She's beautiful.” Emily’s voice wavered.

“Her beauty reminded me of you. I know you're not overly religious but…”

“It’s amazing. Is this pure ivory?”

“Yes, and I am glad you like it.”

“I do.” She wrapped her arms around him, hugging him close and kissing his lips. “I have a gift for you too.”

“You brought it to New York?”

“I didn’t mean to but it was in the bag with the kids’ gifts.”

Emily pulled him back on the bed, putting the sculpture on the nightstand beside them.

“She is staring at us.” Jason murmured, nuzzling her neck and placing kisses there. Emily gathered up his tee shirt, pulling it over his head. Her hands stroked his naked back.

“Oh c'mon, it’s Mary Magdalene. I am sure she has seen worse. According to the Bible she did worse, though I have never believed that.”

“No?” he unbuttoned her shirt—or was it his—spreading it open and admiring her body. Emily lifted her hips as he pulled off the panties.

“It bothers me just a bit that so many women with strength, heart and backbone in the Bible were harlots or supposedly of ill repute.” She got rid of his pajama pants, a small grin on her face that he still wore the grey argyle socks.

“I think that would bother me too.” Jason slid the shirt off her shoulders and arms, throwing it on the floor. His body hovered over hers.

“I want you inside of me Jason…now.”

“Oh yeah?” he stroked between her open thighs, watching Emily shiver.

“Jason…” she whimpered and pulled him tighter against her.

He slid inside of her and Emily gasped. She arched her back, gripping his hips as Jason began to thrust. He stroked her face, speaking without words. It felt so good, being close, making love. Emily’s skin was so responsive to his touch…goose bumps and sweat. He dipped down and pressed his pelvis on hers.

“Oh God,” her eyes fluttered shut.

“Mmm, Katya…mmm, so good.”

“Don’t stop.” her hips bucked to meet his thrusts.

It was over quicker than Jason would have liked but he made sure not to fall without her. Emily cried out when she climaxed; the way she quivered made Jason moan. He lingered inside of her before collapsing on the mattress and holding her close.

“Would you like me there tomorrow to keep the desperate single men at bay?” he asked.

“I want you there for more than that. Keeping them at bay is a plus.”

Jason laughed, kissing her forehead.

“I could be standing in the way of you and your soul mate.”

Emily just stroked the arm lying across her breasts.

“I don’t believe in all that stuff.”

“What do you believe in?”

“The here and now, this moment, and my feelings.”

“How do you feel?” Jason whispered in her ear. The heat of his voice on her skin again caused Emily to quiver.

“I adore you,” she turned in his arms and kissed her. “God that felt good…I've been holding it back for too long.”

“You don’t have to hold anything back from me.”

“I wasn’t. I was holding it back from myself.”

“You don’t have to do that either.”

Jason pulled her body as close to his as he could and they fell asleep holding on.

Aww, man I think I've been sucked into a new fandom. This was insanely hot!! Great job!
BTW, I wrote a little blurb over @ my LJ. I know it's not a fandom you know, but I'd love to have your opinion on it if you don't mind.

I am so glad you liked it....this pairing has captured me like a tiger by the tail. I read your blurb and I commented.

I think I might post more Criminal Minds fic in my journal in the future.
Jenjem80 on November 15th, 2008 03:45 am (UTC)
Thanks for reading my thing! I hope you do put some more CM fic here. I love reading your stuff, no matter what the fandom or paring!

Well since I have absolutely no problem pimping myself, when you get some free time you should go over to hotch_prentiss, which is where the majority of my Criminal Minds fic lives. And if you dont feel like scrolling through everything, all the fic I write, no matter what community it ends up on can be found in my memories.

Pimping over : )
Jenjem80 on November 15th, 2008 03:57 am (UTC)
Hey, I'm all for self-pimpage. I'll head on over there and check it out. Thanks.

They're so cute together

Thank you so much for reading, I really appreciate it. I am starting to love this pairing, though not as much as Hotch/Prentiss of course. But still, they just have this dynamic and I love taking tiny moments in time and making them beautiful....especially since I already know how it ends. That's a blessing and a curse.
aoife: Criminal Minds officialfailte_aoife on November 15th, 2008 03:25 pm (UTC)
Yeah, when I read it I already felt so sorry for Emily, because I knew he would leave *sighs*.

I think I also start to develop an unhealthy obsession for Emily/Rossi...
SSA McGeek: Derek Morgan....shits and gigglesmcgarrygirl78 on November 15th, 2008 03:35 pm (UTC)
Hmm, that Emily/Rossi thing is interesting. I read your story and meant to comment....I will do that today. I wrote that story, Bathwater,, almost on a dare but all of the characters on the show have chemistry. Some pairings I just cant see at all, like Reid/Prentiss or Hotch/Reid but I dont know, I think a case could be made for almost anyone.

As long as the writer is having fun then that's what matters most. Someone out there is going to read it and enjoy it.

Now I see what you mean about the mfeo even in this au. sigh why did he have to leave. I totally want him to get the girl.

too many awesome things to list. so i'll go with knowing how to sign, magic tricks and his utter disregard for lavish spending.

for the record, i'm totally fine with letting a statue watch.
SSA McGeek: Hotch....Kiss me babymcgarrygirl78 on November 15th, 2008 04:06 pm (UTC)
Oh yay, I'm so glad you liked it. Though you are definitely going to have to help me out on what mfeo means. And I totally want him to get the girl too. You should see it, he and Hotch battle in my head all the time. Every time Jason gets a story Hotch wants one to balance out the fic force. Aaron is quite possessive of the affections of his woman.

Utter disregard for lavish spending is pretty close to the top of my list for a good guy.
hopskotch_hotch on November 16th, 2008 11:42 pm (UTC)
I felt such despair when I finished reading this, because I didn't want it to end. Jason, your Jason, the Jason, is the perfect man on paper. I love him knowing sign language and being able to engage with kids and entertain them. I love how he scouted for thoughtful, really meaningful things she's like for Christmas. I love how she is delighted to see him show up, even at a family gathering and he hasn't met her family before. I love how she longs for him. I love everything about them. If they had this, would he have left? Do you think she'd be something, someone intoxicating enough to stay for?
I always compare what she would have with Hotch, with the relationship you've created with Jason. I wrack my brains trying to find the differences and similarities. You have me tormented woman!
SSA McGeek: Gideon and Prentiss....happy happymcgarrygirl78 on November 17th, 2008 12:06 am (UTC)
I am so sorry to torment you : D

I am falling in love with them and so mad at Jason for leaving but to answer your question I do not think she was intoxicating enough to stay for. He probably felt he would soon poison her with what was poisoning him and even though it was beautiful now it would not remain that way.....nothing in his life remained that way. He left her to save, that's probably how he thinks about it. He knew Hotch could give her what she needed and he knew she could love Hotch and not have to hide it. And even all this though Hotch was married when Jason left. I am sure he knew as well that what Hotch had with Haley was not going to last.

I think Jason loves kids and if he wouldnt have left the show I might have been able to continue their relationship in a different set of writings and given them a family.....but there is no need to get started down that road. Oh no, I will not.

Ooh differences and similarities between G/P and H/P, we will definitely have to have that conversation one day. It sounds intriguing.
